One of my Favourite TV shows at the moment is ‘Once Upon A Time.’ I am loving getting lost in the magic.
There is a clock on the wall at the end of our local shops, right on the corner where the building comes to a point, looking almost like a clock tower. For as long as I can remember the clock has not moved. It has been sitting there, stuck on approximately 10:13.
I go past this clock every morning on our run and it amuses me every time I see it. Wondering when they will fix it and if it will ever work again. Yesterday morning, as I passed, it I thought about the previous night when I had been watching Once Upon A Time. It reminded me of the clock in Storybrooke that had been stuck until Emma arrived.
My imagination took over and as I ran my mind drifted off into fairy tales and make believe. Imagine if, like in Storybrooke, we were all living under a curse. Imagine if we were all fairytale characters and we were living each day stuck in a world we were not from, separated from loved ones and not even knowing it.
Who would I be? This got me thinking. Could I be Cinderella (always cleaning and doing housework), or Snow White (she looks after the 7 dwarfs, I look after 2, though sometimes feels like 7). I am certainly not Sleeping Beauty (there is not that much sleep going on around here most of the time). I used to want to be Wendy from Peter Pan when I was a little girl. Maybe I could be the Fairy Godmother, granting everybody’s wishes. I would love to see people’s faces light up as I made their dreams come true.
Who would the twins be? Hansel and Gretel? Maybe they are one of the Seven Dwarfs. B1 could be Bashful (she is shy around new people and takes a little warming up). B2 could be Peter Pan (he is a cheeky little one).
I can’t wait until my two are old enough to play dress ups and make up plays and stories. I think I will have as much fun as they do.
