A Fun Family Day Out At Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo

Last week we spent four days in Pembrokeshire, South-West Wales staying at Bluestone National Park. We had such an amazing time and it all went far too quickly - but they do say that time flies when you're having fun don't they?! I'll be doing a write up about where we stayed and what we did very soon but today I want to focus on one of the places we visited during our time away called Folly Farm. 
First up don't let the name of this place fool you, like it did me, this isn't just a farm.. Folly Farm is so much more than just a farm - it's a bit of everything and it offers something to please absolutely everybody no matter what their age is or what they're idea of a great day out is.

Folly Farm is packed full of family fun, there are vintage indoor fairground rides (which are amazing!), there's the Jolly Farm, an award winning zoo which is home to the only giraffes in the whole of Wales, outside go-karts, outside play parks, indoor soft play, pedal tractors, sand diggers for the kids and even diggers for the adults! And that's not all - there's tons more to see and do - there is quite literally something for everyone! 

In regards to lunch time - you can bring your own picnic and eat on one of the many benches scattered across the park or you can sit and relax in their indoor restaurant and enjoy a variety of hot and cold meals suitable for adults, kids and toddlers. If you'd rather you can pick up a panini from The Coffee Shop or grab a snack on the go from one of their outside eateries. One of the things that shocked me (in the best way possible) about Folly Farm is the price of their tickets.. they are absolutely fantastic value! It's just over £10 for an adult and just under £10 for children aged 3-15 years and senior citizens with children aged 2 and under going free. When I compare that to some of the prices of places around near where I live that offer a hell of a lot less in their parks, I can't quite believe it. And if you want to, you can even use Tesco Clubcard Days Out tokens to pay for entry in to Folly Farm. It wasn't just me who was utterly impressed with Folly Farm - my Husband and Ethans Grandparents commented several times throughout the day about how brilliant it was, also commenting on how good the ticket price was for what was on offer. And though he's (still) not talking, Ethan didn't need to say what he thought of it.. we all knew that he was having an absolute blast -  it was written all over his face. I've tried to think of some constructive criticism but it's pretty tough going trying to criticize Folly Farm to be perfectly honest. Here are the (very few) points that I can come up with..
  • I found the price of lunch a little steep and would probably bring a picnic next time given the chance. 
  • I thought it was a shame that The Coffee Shop was closed, but it can't always be open, right?!
  • You do have to pay for the go-karts and the Big Dig which are priced at £2 per person per kart/digger. Funfair tokens are also priced at 50p per token.But if I am totally honest I didn't think this was a problem and didn't mind paying as it felt like a really fair price. 
  • It's not close enough to where I live! (We already want to go again, haha!) ;)


And that really is all I can come up with for constructive criticism! I cannot tell you how much I recommend a visit to Folly Farm if you live near by or you're ever in Pembrokeshire. It's an utterly fantastic fun-filled family day out! I'd award it 10 stars out of 5 if I could! We all absolutely loved it.
