A Late Night Poem For Devorah

Cosmic dust
Cosmic flotsam
Wriggly lumps of human,
We bumped into each other,
Once strangers,
Now, maybe, friends.
(Maybe).
We bumped into each other
In the vast expanse of the cosmos
On The Corner
Of Smith and Johnston
Or some wonky place on Gertrude.
I know you,
But don't know you,
You moody fucker.
And in a friendly way
I adore you
You are Devohrable,
And I hope we are there for each other
For a very long lengthOf long timeness
A veRY WOOPS BACK TO LOWER CASE long length of impatient
NESS
fUCK defintely lower case now.
Okay, so my late night poerty sucks.
Thing is, remember when you said the thing
About people expecting something back?
Something in return for something you give them?
I expect nothing in return for anything
That I might have given you.
You have made me happy,
And that is enough.
Our friendship could flounder and die
It could fDE AWAY and radiate,You might become a sepia memory
And probably will
But the thing is,
I don't care.
I don't care about the future,
Because how cool is the past?
You wanted me to write a poem for you
And so there it is.
It's kind of pooh
But so are you.
