A Letter to My Younger Self:

Posted on the 30 September 2013 by Jamie Gall @50states50wines

You know, as I look at my life, and where I’ve been from this point further, there’s one word that comes to mind, and it’s simply

“Live.”

Live in the moment that is given to you.  Surround yourself with the people around you.

When it is time to move forward, trust your gut, and you will know.  Some people stick around, and some people don’t, but that doesn’t mean they still didn’t make your life better by being apart of it.

When you find yourself happy in a job.  Ask yourself, why are you there?  If the answer you get back isn’t good enough, start looking elsewhere.

Some people live happily in a house, having bbq’s, and going to church (nothing’s wrong with all of it, however, you’ve recognized that’s not the way you want to live your life, and you know what, that’s perfectly okay.)

When that moment comes for you to move out of your home state, do it.  You will have no regrets, and you will create one amazing story to tell (PS: the story’s still not over at this point.)

The sooner you find your passions in life the sooner you begin to pursue them.

Find your talents, and find ways to make extra income from them.  That extra income comes in handy during those trying times.

And never lose faith in yourself or those you surround yourself with.  When a friend makes a decision you don’t necessarily agree with, remember, it is their life, and not your own.  A great friend is the one that can stick through it even when they don’t agree.

And just remember, in the long run of things, the times you get stressed out, are just as easily forgotten the next day.  So why stress?

Words of wisdom? Perhaps.   But just remember that one word.

“Live.”
