That is the name of my newest project with Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. It's a Regency novella that I wrote this spring, as an homage to brilliant Jane Austen. You're already familiar with my obsessive inclination towards Regency romance, so, this novella, tries to embrace, at least partially, this entire concept. My heroine, Portia Marguerite Prudence Thorpe, is a likable young lady who, must face the horrid nature of a father, too self involved to factor her in any crucial decisions, including her own marriage.
You know how tempted I am to avoid happy endings (I must have a serious problem) yet this particular ending is the closest I could get to a romantic one. I find myself disturbingly drawn to drama, which is terrible, because I am sooo tired of my own drama already. Anyway, I am very excited about this project and I truly hope it will be well received. What do you think? Are Regencies still hot on the book market?
