Our little Logan is very spirited and prior to climbing all over the trains chairs and table, he'd already thrown himself on the floor in Costa and run off in to a private room. I tell you - these parents that jump on and off of trains with their little ones with ease, don't know how lucky they are! But then, in all honesty, I wouldn't have it any other way really - life with Logan is always full of energy (his not mine!), fun and is very rarely dull! ;)
When we got there we were greeted by the lovely people from AVEENO® and their PR company who made us feel really welcomed. They invited us in for a smoothie and we had a little time to catch up with some of the lovely fellow bloggers and vloggers that I have gotten to know over the years of writing my blog. (If you're a reader of a few parenting and lifestyle blogs, then you might just recognize some of the faces below). After settling ourselves in and having a little catch up, we were invited to try out a session of mom and baby yoga - I had had a suspicion that Logan would be far too busy exploring (which he was), but he joined in a few times and was really interested when the bubbles came out. I actually really enjoyed learning a bit about baby yoga - I'd not really seen it before and I feel like it seems like a lovely way to get a bit of relaxing, bonding time in with your little one, away from all other distractions.
After the yoga we were invited for some lunch - a savoury oat dish for the parents and a baby bircher muesli with apple and beetroot for the little ones. Alex Hely-Hutchinson who made the dishes said that, "Oats really come to life when you mix them with other ingredients, and oats and yogurt are a classic combination, one of my favorite examples being bircher muesli. First pioneered in around 1900 by Swiss doctor and nutritionist Maximilian Bircher-Benner, his recipe combined oats, dairy, fruits and nuts, and it hasn’t changed to this day. Dr Bircher used lemon juice in his recipe, and research shows that pairing foods rich in vitamin C like lemon, with iron rich foods like oats, helps aid the absorption of the iron in the body.Bircher mueslis containing lemon, orange or even beetroot are just a few of my family favourites".After lunch, I was chatting to some of lovely ladies from AVEENO® and I learned that AVEENO®'s baby range is in fact quite new to the UK market - I'd felt like it had been around for a while, but I think maybe that's because AVEENO® is such a well known brand.
I also learnt that AVEENO® Baby products contain natural oats and help keep babies skin feeling comfortable, healthy and protected. Dr Shefali Rajpopat a consultant dermatologist says that, “When it comes to baby skincare, it’s important to use natural ingredients that work to gently nourish and protect their skin. Oats are a key ingredient to look out for - providing gentle relief to dry and sensitive prone skin. Natural colloidal oatmeal creates a protective film that increases skin hydration, helps to maintain normal pH and protects the skin surface from external aggressors. The oatmeal granules even act as micro-sponges to absorb dirt and dead skin cells, to leave the skin feeling soft and healthy. Using a natural ingredient such as oat can help keep babies skin looking and feeling healthy.”
I came away from the event having had a really lovely time and having learnt lots about Aveeno Baby and their passion towards parents embracing their wellbeing from the inside out for themselves and for their little ones. We came home with a bag of AVEENO® Baby products to try, including their Daily Care Moisturising Lotion, their Baby Hair & Body Wash, their Cleansing Milk and some others. And we've been using the products at home with Logan ever since and we've been really happy with them so far.
I'd like to see a big, huge thank you to AVEENO® Baby for inviting us along because we really did have such a lovely time!
Thank you for reading. Alex xo
