A New Big Boy Bed - Bedroom Tour
This week, we've made some changes to our biggest boys bedroom and I thought I'd share them with you in a little bedroom tour.
Tyne moved from his cot into a toddler bed when he was 21 months old, and that Thomas toddler bed has served him well since - but, although he still had plenty of room in it and it could have lasted him a while longer, he isn't so much of a Thomas fan anymore and we knew that we would soon need to move Noah into a toddler bed - and so it made sense to free up the Thomas bed and get a brand new Big Boy bed for Tyne.
We were lucky enough to be given the chance to work with Noa & Nani who supply beautiful high quality cabin and bunk beds for children - we were absolutely spoiled for choice by the website as there were endless stunning choices of beds available which would all have been just perfect - from bunk beds to beds with tents and slides, but in the end we decided to go with the one that took our breath away when we saw it - the Christopher Mid Sleeper Treehouse Bed.

Now one look at this bed told me that it was going to be pretty complicated to put together, and when it arrived my fears seemed to be confirmed by the amount of boxes it came in - but much to my surprise it took hardly any time at all to put together and I heard very little shouting coming from the bedroom where my partner was building it!
He did it by himself and it took him around an hour and a half to assemble - he said it was very straight forward, his only slight complaint being that the assembly instructions had been stapled together in the wrong order but once he had sorted this out it was assembled in no time at all.
The bed is very sturdy, and the quality is very apparent just from looking at it - it makes the most stunning addition to our sons bedroom and we were so excited to show it to him.

I decided to add a little hammock at the bottom for his toys, and we used the space created underneath to store his toys - he calls this area his "secret hideaway" .
He had his first nights sleep in his new bed last night, and it was a big success - he is delighted with it!
I added this lovely Pirate themed bedding set from Laura Ashley as Tyne is very into pirates at the moment, and the Red, White & Star Fairy Lights (also from Laura Ashley) which I hung around the outside of the treehouse were a great addition to the nautical theme too.

I kept his wardrobe in the same place as before, topped with more of his beloved cuddly toys - his book corner also had to stay as he loves it, so I moved it to another part of the room and added in some scatter cushions and places for him to sit and enjoy his books.
I also added in a few little shelves to display some of his favorite books, and other bits & pieces.

Tyne is absolutely delighted with his new bedroom, and I know this beautiful treehouse bed will last him for years - now I just have the problem of how to live up to this when it's Noah and Sailor's turn for big boy bedrooms!!
What's your favorite thing about your little ones bedroom? I'd love to hear from you!
