For ten years in a row, Manhattan Beach has teamed up with “Walk With Sally” to put on the White Light White Night event. The goal of the event is to raise funds for the organization “Walk with Sally.” An organization that provides support for children with parents dying of cancer or have died from cancer.
And let me tell you, this charity event, goes all out in making sure this happens. From bringing in 25 different restaurants from around the South Bay area to amazing prizes being auctioned out during the silent auction to the entertainment: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, this is the event not to miss each year.
This year, sold out, for another year in a row. The event took place on Saturday, July 27th at the Manhattan Beach Media Campus.
Some highlights from the event included:
The crowd has made it to the night. Over 700 people in attendance that evening.
That evening, there was also a silent auction. All the money went towards “Walk with Sally.” Some prizes are featured above along with sports gear, tickets to events around town to amazing trip deals. The auction ended at 7:30pm.
South Bay Restaurants came out in support of Walk with Sally. Restaurants included: Kincaids, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Fresh Brothers, Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ, Circa, Pitfire Artisan Pizza, Z Inc, Hudson House, The Tripel, Lido di Manhattan, Rock N’ Fish, The Rockefeller, Simmzy’s, Paul Martin’s, Tin Roof Bistro, Torrance Bakery and Salt Creek Grille.
Paleta was also on hand giving out samples of their press juice cleanses. They also teamed up with Tequla Patron (another Walk with Sally Sponsor) to offer attendees special Tequila and Paleta drink mixes:
As the Silent Auction came to a close, they all began to move us indoors to hear the board of directors speak a bit about “Walk with Sally,” the organization, what it does and what it stands for, and to take a minute to thank all the sponsors for donating to such an amazing cause.
And then Cyndi McMaster took the to the stage sharing her story and how she became involved with the organization “Walk with Sally.” She asked each of us in the room to raise our hands if we have had an immediate family member or grandparent affected by cancer. 2/3′s of the room raised their hand. She said, throughout the evening, as we sit hear and laugh, have fun, to think of that, and why an organization like Walk with Sally is needed.
Not only does Walk in Sally help children during the cancer, but they are an organization that sticks around and helps with the aftermath too.
And then the entertainment for the rest of the evening began.
