What a difference two weeks makes! When comparing the weather to the last time I was at Herrington Country Park with Luna where everything was covered in snow and the lake was frozen over with rock hard ice. We ventured back this weekend and it was like a completely different place. The sun was shining, it was bright blue skies, you could see the grass and the frozen lake had melted.
With the sun being out, it made for a bright blue sky over Penshaw Monument and with the lake being back to normal it meant that Luna could go swimming! A sight I have never actually seen in real life, so I was beyond excited to watch her swim around and just as I imagined it would be, she looked so cute paddling around to fetch this giant stick my Dad was throwing for her. She trotted along proudly out of the water before shaking herself dry and then rolling on her back in the grass to dry herself off further before running back into the water and repeating the same routine over and over again. Of course in true Luna fashion, she had to be carrying the biggest stick she could find, ha!
I also caught an interesting moment in the video, of the swans swimming to then suddenly taking off to fly out of the water which was a cool sight to see.
