This is my first year to participate in the Virtual Advent Tour and I’ve loved all the stops. They added a bit of Christmas to my day. Today, it’s my turn!
Rick and I enjoy the Christmas season so much that we decided to get married in December with a Christmas-themed wedding. Since we’d both been married before, we wanted a small, homey style wedding so we had our wedding and reception in a Victorian-style Bed-and-Breakfast that was all decked out for the holidays. The owner at the time worked for a florist so she had access to glorious seasonal decorations that were festooned about the house.
My mother-in-law made my dream dress–green velvet with a sweetheart neckline.
Carolers dressed in Victorian costume showed up for the reception.
Parts of the house were older than Victorian as evidenced by the exposed rough-hewn logs in this room where we fed each other cake. We didn’t actually have a wedding cake, so these were petit fours.
You might also enjoy last week’s post that featured details about our Chocolate and Champagne Wedding Reception. Earlier in the month, I posted about How We Met with some photos of our first Christmas together. If you want yet more Christmas from my life story, I posted a funny letter that I wrote to Santa when I was 19, Dear Santa, and wrote about a special visit from Santa when I was 4, Most Magical Christmas.
The other stop today on the Virtual Advent Tour is Shelleyrae at Book’d Out, so be sure to check her post for a little more of that Christmas spirit! Thanks to Kailana from The Written World and Marg from Adventures of an Intrepid Reader for running the Virtual Advent Tour. It’s been fun!
I’ll also be linking this post to Saturday Snapshot with Alyce of At Home With Books. Check out her Saturday post for links to photos around the web.
