A Week of Apps

Posted on the 20 March 2013 by Gandbblog @GandBblog
I have something cool to show you guys. It's the next big blog thing, I just know it. Yesterday, via Instagram and Facebook I saw a couple of bloggers with their blog icons on their iPhones. My first thought was, Holy crap! They created a blog app for their blog?!? Um, kind of. It's actually an icon where they can check their blog or read others' blogs by just pressing the icon on their smart phone. Bing! Light bulb went off! So I followed this tutorial and created my own!
A Week of Apps If you'd like this wonderful icon on your home screen, simply open Safari on your iPhone and navigate to www.grinandbarrettblog.com. Click the box with an arrow coming out of it (either at the top or bottom of your screen) and select "add to home screen". You can then name it whatever you want (G&B or Grin&Barrett, whatever) and click "add". Voila! You now have my blog at your finger tips! How convenient and another way to follow my posts! Yippee! Here are some other blogs that have done the above and I have them sitting nicely on my home screen! (FMGD, Framed Frosting) A Week of Apps This week I have also committed to starting my healthier lifestyle! I plan to lose about 60 pounds. Eek! Can you believe it's that much? Man, that was hard for me to share. Phew! But to get my jiggly bits less jiggly, I have to hold myself accountable. I had been hearing about the My Fitness Pal app and decided to give it a try. I added my personal information and it set my caloric intake at 1310 cal. per day. That sounds like really little, but when you make smart choices, it's amazing how much you can actually fit in. I have been eating more frequent, smaller meals and that has certainly helped with hunger & cravings. I haven't really craved anything bad, but I have had my bout with boredom eating. Fortunately, I didn't cave to my crave, haha. Little craving humor there. I have also added the Couch25K app as well. I did day one and it wasn't that bad. My shins were on fire, so I had to cut it short, but running felt better than walking, believe it or not!  A Week of Apps What are your go-to apps this week? Oh, and leave me a comment if you get an icon for your blog!  I will add you to my home screen, home slices!
