A Weekend Of Relaxation At Andrewshayes Holiday Park, East Devon

A few weeks ago, we were kindly invited to spend the weekend at a lovely family run holiday site called Andrewshayes in Axminster, East Devon
The site is home to privately owned caravans and also offers facilities for tourers, tents as well as offering glamping pods and caravans to hire too. We stayed in one of their Beech holiday homes which was a new addition to the site - it was a lovely home away from home, with stylish and understated interiors, every amenity you would look for in a holiday home and 3 comfortable and rather spacious bedrooms.
We've stayed in a fair few caravans over the years, but I have to say that this one certainly had the most roomy feel I've come across in the main bedroom - there was even an en-suite wc.

The caravan was spotlessly clean, and the shower was really powerful - but our favorite thing about it was the decking area! Having never stayed in a caravan with a decking area before, I hadn't known what I'd been missing out on but it was absolutely ideal. The weather during our stay was beautiful, and the decking provided the perfect play space for the boys while Jon & I could sit on the chairs outside and soak up the sun - bliss!

The site had all of the on-site amenities you could hope for, including a play park which the boys loved, a pub and restaurant with takeaway service, a toddler room, a small arcade and an on-site shop. Everything was kept clean, and in good working order.
As we always do when visiting somewhere new, we spent most of our time exploring the local area - although we do live in Devon ourselves, we weren't at all familiar with this area and we had a great weekend getting out and about.
There were tons of family days out to choose from, but we decided to keep it low key and spend some time on the beaches - on Saturday we visited nearby Charmouth (less than 10 minutes drive away) which was a lovely little beach with an onsite fossil exhibition in the visitor center and an ice cream shop/cafe.

And on Sunday we headed in to Dorset (the site is perfectly placed on the border of Devon and Dorset, making it the ideal base to explore both counties) - we enjoyed a drive around taking in the beautiful countryside, and eventually settled on an afternoon walking around the seaside town of xx and enjoying the sunshine on the pretty pebble beach there.

Our weekend at Andrewshayes was intended to be one of rest and relaxation, and it did the job just perfectly!
