A-Z Book Survey From BiblioBeth

Author you’ve read the most books from: Orson Scott Card

Best Sequel Ever: My favorite sequel is Speaker For the Dead. It is a sequel to Card’s Ender’s Game.

Currently Reading: Well, I’m kind of reading several books at a time but the main two are Card’s Xenocide and Nalo Hopkinson’s The New Moon Arms.

Drink of Choice While Reading: Diet ginger ale or ice water.

E-reader or Physical Book? Physical.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:  Andrew Wiggins from the Ender’s Game series.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance: Ender’s Game.

Hidden Gem Book: Amy and Isabel and Elizabeth Strout.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:  When I realized that I needed poetry in my life. I thought I didn’t like poetry.

Just Finished: The Complete Stories of Zora Neale Hurston.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read: Very violent and/or bloody. Also, sexually explicit book. Anything that triggers.

Longest Book You’ve Read: The Stand by Stephen King.

Major book hangover because of: The Remains of the Day by  Kazuo Isiguro. I keep wondering what happened to the main character Stevens The Butler. I re-read the book every year because I can truly relate to him, and Elizabeth Strout’s Oliver Kitteridge; I didn’t want it to end.

Number of Bookcases You Own: Three

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:  Judy’s Journey by Lois Lenski and of course, Remains of the Day.

Preferred Place To Read: Comfortable chair next to lamp in living room.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:  ”Books serve to show a man that those original thoughts of his aren’t very new at all.”   Abraham Lincoln

Reading Regret:   Don’t have any.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series): Ender’s Game Series.

Three of your All-Time Favourite Books:   I can’t do only three. Speaker of the Dead by Orson Scott Card, Daughters of the Dust by Julie Dash,  Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout,Judy’s Journey by Lois Lenski and Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Silas Marner by George Eliot, Good Woman by Lucille Clifton, and so on, and so forth…

I’m out of steam.
