अब तो घबरा के ये कहते हैं कि मर जाएंगे, मर गए पर न लगा जी तो किधर जाएँगे। In panic now I say,It will be better to die, But if peace be not in death,whither then.
सामने चश्मे-गुहरबार के ,कह दो दरिया, चढ़ के अगर आये तो नज़रों से उतर जाएँगे। In front of pearl like tears shedding eyes, tell river, that if you came climbing,you are out of sight then.
ख़ाली ऐ चारागरों होंगे बहुत मरहमदान, पर मेरे ज़ख्म नहीं ऐसे कि भर जाएँगे। Too many salve box will get empty,doctors, but my wounds are such that not to be healed even then.
पहुंचेंगे रहगुज़र-ए-यार तलक हम क्यूँ कर, पहले जब तक न दो आलम से गुज़र जाएँगे। Why do I reach to the way of my beloved, before whole universe i roam,until then.
आग़ दोज़क़ की भी हो आएगी पानी-पानी, जब ये आसी अरक-ए-शर्म से तर जाएँगे। Fire of hell will also get ashamed when sinful get saturated in shame's perspiration then
हम नहीं वो जो करें खून का दावा तुझपर, बल्कि पूछेगा ख़ुदा भी तो मुकर जाएँगे। I am not among those who claim for your blood, If God also ask,I will retracted then.
रुख़े-रोशन से नक़ाब अपने उलट देखो तुम, मेहरो-मह नज़रों से यारों के उतर जाएँगे। Look to remove veil from your shining face, Moon and Sun amongst their admirer will descend then,
'जौक' जो मदरसे के बिगड़े हुए हैं मुल्ला, उनको मैख़ाने में ले जाओ,संवर जाएँगे। 'Zauq' learned who are devious in seminaries, Take them to tavern,they will be decked then.
