Americana in Southern California

The awesome folks at Knott's Berry Farm hosted us on a lovely summer weekend to enjoy the park!

When you live in Southern California, specifically the Westside of L.A., you will receive endless requests from folks to spend their summer break near you.
So when the occasion arose for our out of town guests to spend the weekend with us, we made it a point to go outside of our neighborhood and transport our guests to a simpler time: A day trip at Knott's Berry Farm.
Only short drive away from us, Knott's Berry Farm is not what it sounds like: it's more than a park and definitely not your typical amusement park.
It has a little bit of everything and something for everyone to enjoy: from your fashionistas, to your foodies. From the kids in the family, to grumpier older folks (ooopss - did I just hint that my hubby is grumpy? -smirk-).
I love exploring the park and engaged our guests to find nooks and crannies that reminded of old Western movies, to then suddenly discovering a gift store - that had more than your usual branded "stuff."
There's, of course, rides for everyone.  From the traditional ferris wheel to their newest attractions at The Boardwalk.
But what I like the most about the park, is the Americana environment that transports you to what California must have looked like to our early settlers.  Our guests agreed: it was a blast from the past!

Can you spot my hubby in the photo?

But those are not the only reasons why I enjoyed my day at Knott's:

These are my top five reasons to make Knott's Berry Farm a must-go to destination this summer:

Reason #5
A day at Knotts feels like you have been walking through the California wilderness

Reason #4
Knott's is the only amusement park where you can actually learn about our American History and not get bored

Reason #3
You can actually buy fresh-squeezed lemonade - made by hand the old fashioned way!

Reason #2
Knotts has the BEST theme-park branded merchandise that you will actually like and use after your trip!

Reason #1
The world famous chicken dinner that always (always!) includes a slice of pie!  My favorite is the classic Boysenberry pie.  Absolutely DELISH!

I hope that you enjoy a day (or two!) at Knott's this summer...and let me know what you enjoy the most when you visit the park - I'm sure you'll have a lot to share!
Happy travels!

We were invited by Knotts Berry Farm to enjoy the park in exchange for documenting our experience.  All opinions and photos are my own. #LLBLOG
