An Arrogant, Yet Much Needed Post.

Posted on the 07 March 2014 by Mikidemann @mikidemann
Last night I read THIS post and thought to myself. It would be way easy to name 10 things about myself that I like. My first thought was I wonder if people will really want to read what I like about myself. It seems like an arrogant topic. In my head I started to create my list of things I like about myself and I realized this is kind of hard. I think everybody has 3 or 4 things that they pride about themselves, but to get to 10 is a difficult task.
Then I realized the point of this link up and this post was not to entertain reader it was to help me realize, “hey I’m a pretty rad person”. Which I think every body needs. We are so hard on ourselves that we need to remember to also be really kind to ourselves and if that comes in the form of blogging, I’m all for it.
10 things I like about myself
* I love that I value friendship. I want to be friends with everyone and it’s not a gimmick, it’s just me. I have made a point to build a friendship with every one of Jared’s friends and both my brother’s friends. Anyone that is important to my friends is important to me. It’s also important that I build friendships with co-workers and other people that I have consistent contact with.

* I love my ambition. When I set my mind to something it’s going to happen. I have taught myself photoshop and even though I’m always learning, it’s a skill I always value. I’ve been learning photography for the past few months and can’t wait to improve my skills. I also have tried to teach myself html, movie editing, and more design aspects. It’s nice to know that I’m trying to improve my skill set and that I have the ambition to do it.
* I like my ability to change. I am always working on improving and changing myself into a better version. I’m not embarrassed to grab a few self help books a study them. I try to take criticism gracefully and always continue to work on myself.
* I like that I’m organized. I pride myself in having my closet color coded, my desk at work clean and knowing where everything is in my house. I can still be messy at times, it’s the worst when I change outfits 5 times in the morning, but when I put everything away it always has a designated spot.
* I like that I’m an animal lover. I like that no matter where I go, I can always cozy up with a dog, cat, hedgehog or any other creature and how happy they all make me. I am always up for pet-sitting. I love that when I see a dog that looks like it’s in trouble, I will ALWAYS stop my car and try to help. I love that I let birds live in my grill last summer.

* I like that I’m always willing to help. No matter if it’s a project at work or moving a friend in their new home. I don’t mind taking time out of my day to make someone else’s a bit easier.
* I love that I’m expressive. I may have a hard time with confrontation, but when I choose to do it, I can express how I feel in 20 different ways. I don’t mind being dramatic, exaggerating or cussing. It’s part of who I am and  I enjoy expressing myself in writing and speaking.
* I like that I have the ability to be comfortable in any situation. I can be shy, but usually I warm up quick. I will be happy and content sitting at home on Friday night watching a movie, out at a bar with a few friends, at a house party with a bunch of people, or in a quiet restaurant having dinner. I am the chameleon of social situations.

* I love that I’m able to go with the flow. When J and I plan trips together I’m able to let go. I don’t mind not knowing where we are staying or where dinner is at, I am able to be hands off and just fly by the seat of my pants. (As long as we have a hotel when we fly to a different country… read that horrific story HERE).
* I love how important it is to me to be a good person. I don’t claim a religion, so the fuel to be the best possible, is fueled by me. I’m glad that  Jared thinks the same way and was attracted to me because of that. We don’t judge others, we try to help and bring good into the universe, because we WANT to.
It’s much harder to do this than you’d expect, but it’s great to give yourself a pat on the back for being YOU!
