Melissa Ann Rourke was a sculptor, videographer and digital artist, who, last year passed away at the age of 26 from cancer.
On Saturday, May 18th, an art exhibit of Melissa’s “Bodyscapes” series will be on exhibit at Hive Studios in Downtown LA. Melissa’s artwork focused upon topics concerning the body, movement and visual disturbance/reinterpretation.
This event is a memorial to honor Melissa Ann Rourke, but the event is also a partnership with the Create Now Organization. Create Now is an independent nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of youth in need through arts mentoring and experiences. Students from the Create Now organization will also have pieces showcased at the event.
