I've been feeling really Autumnual lately, and I know that that sounds like a somewhat silly thing to say with it being Autumn and all, but it's just that I'm not usually a particularly big fan of the change of season - I don't usually enjoying letting go of Summer.
We'd never been to a pick your own pumpkin patch before and though the pumpkins turned out to be a bit more pricier than you can buy them in the shop for, the experience of actually going to a pumpkin patch as a family with the boys was pretty fun. I took my DSLR camera along with me and I absolutely loved taking photos of the boys and of us all surrounded by all the pumpkins. We visited a Pop Up Farm just off of junction 9 of the M1 (postcode AL3 8HT) after seeing it on a friends Instagram page and then finding out more about it over on the MK kids blog.
After we'd finished picking our pumpkins and attempting to take a family photo (which on a very windy day with no big tripod and two little boys who just wanted to run around and jump over pumpkins, was a bit of a challenge), we headed home for a hot cup of tea and to make the Halloween cupcakes I'd promised the boys that we'd do. The day turned out to be a really lovely family day and it really got us in the mood for Halloween and Autumn. Adam and I even got to head out for a few drinks that evening whilst my Mum and Step-Dad came to put the boys to bed, which was really nice.
I thought I'd share some of my favourite photos from the pumpkin patch here and there's also a video of our day embedded at the end of the post and over on my youtube channel if you'd like to see it. :)
Have you been to a pumpkin patch this year? If so, what did you think?
