And They Said Chrisianity Was Boring

If you are honest one reason you probably don't go to church is that you think it is boring.
Even some clergy members have said they think church can be boring at times.
Is that a legitimate reason not to go?
It might be because you have heard the story so many times before.  The Savior of the universe came to earth and forgives your sins, if you follow him.
Why Is Christianity Interesting?

What else could be MORE interesting?  Eternity is a long time and how you spend it might not seem like a lot now, but what about then?  What do Michael Jackson's riches do for him now?  If your life isn't all you want it to be, at least Christianity gives you another chance to find that fulfillment.  (The "happiness" of this world is not the same thing).
As you go through your daily life do you ever think to yourself, "There has to be more than this?  We must have been more for some bigger reason."
For this post the author decided to look at an opinion poll to see what people think about the importance of having meaning in their lives.  It depends which poll you pick to get information, of course.  There are not many "Meaning Of Life" polls, and what would it measure if there were?  The poll used for this post is aptly named, The Pew Forum On Religion And Public Life  Interestingly the results showed 78.4% of respondents considered themselves Christians.
What does this tell us?  Let us say a person considers themselves "non-religious."  Oftentimes this is taken to mean that this world is all the person thinks there is. What would you do then?  You probably would live life by the guideline of "do what feels good/"
Christianity provides a different alternative (that some consider better).
Instead of offering a life that will end forever Christianity offers a life that will LAST forever, if you believe.  If a person believes in heaven or hell then they believe that what they are doing now is important.  It is so important the results of it will last for ETERNITY.  This implies that would you do matters a lot.
Christianity might seem boring to some because they do not currently see the everlasting effects.  It is easy to read the Bible and think those things happened a long time ago and far away.  The lasting impression of the Bible is intended to be that is applies directly to you and the characters in the Bible are for to follow to bring you more fulfillment.  Happiness is fleeting, but fulfillment is more everlasting.  From a Christian perspective everything that happens is for some reason, even if you are not aware of it.
Christianity might also sound boring to some because they have had the same thing preached to them many times.  Maybe it has been preached so many times because it is so amazing it is beyond the capacity of a human to understand.  (This message is also in the Bible).
Perhaps you still think Christianity is boring.  This is true for some people.  Jesus does not want to force his way on you, anyhow.  He gave you free will for a reason and coming to him genuinely means much more.
Can this message of Christianity add any meaning to YOUR life?
This adds meaning to life because: According to Christianity everything you do and everything that happens to you is for a greater reason, and for your good.
