Another Day In Paradise

Another day in paradise. That Phil Collins’ song has always been a favorite. But then, Phil Collins is one of my all-time favorite artists. I’ve always marveled at how the sound recording on his music is far superior to others. This morning, I was musing on how I tend to assign songs to places – and when I revisit them, the song plays in my head. Do you do that sometimes? Isn’t it funny? It goes on auto-pilot!

One of the places I’ve always wanted to visit, and hope to soon, is Kashmir. Ever since my friend Ravi enjoyed a holiday there and posted his pictures, I’ve been yearning to go. As Jehangir, the Moghul Emperor said:

“Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast.”

Translated: “If there is ever a heaven on earth, its here, its here, its here.”

And going by the scenes we see in most Bollywood movies and Ravi’s pictures, one would have to agree. Advertisements from Kashmir Tourism literally make me drool over the natural beauty of this gorgeous State in our country. While I enjoy making my own arrangements and taking my own sweet time to see the place, sometimes it is also fun to book a travel package, just as we did when we visited Sikkim.  But I’ll check out some of the  Kashmir packages offered – because the government tourism guys usually do a pretty good job in conjunction with the airlines. Hmm. So for now, let’s make do with some gorgeous photos of Kashmir. Let’s take a Kashmir Tour and enjoy…

Now let’s head over to Unknown Mami’s place – she hosts this fabulous meme – and see what the others are up to!

Let’s travel the world together!

Have a great week ahead!
