For some reason I woke up at just after five this morning.
When I looked out of the window everything looked misty and magical. Then dawn broke properly and everything looked much as it ever does.
A few people have taped up their windows. All the shops are shut except the liquor store, the nail parlor and, inexplicably, Barney's Warehouse sale.
We are in evacuation area C, so are unlikely to be evacuated. We have candles and lots of ham and cake and raisins...... Will keep you posted.
