Are You a Bible-Blogger?

Are You a Bible-Blogger?
Blogs are a great way to share our lives, or to just keep an online journal. However, there is one topic that throws me every time I find a blogger that openly writes about it. Religion.  This makes me feel bad. I'd like to consider myself open minded, so I'm disappointed that I wouldn't blink an eyelid at people discussing their sex lives, troubles finding the right size tampons or mental health issues, but when someone mentions their religion?  DAMN, that blogger is cray-zee.
I'm not 'anti-religion' or even a plain old Aethiest (because, isn't everyone these days?)  I consider myself Agnostic. ag·nos·tic n.  One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God. So, I certainly don't find blogging about religion, or even just mentioning that you're religious in your blog offensive, distasteful or feel as though it's being rammed down my throat with a syringe. So, what gives? Why do I find it so damn unsettling? To offer a wild stab in the dark and attempt my own psycho-analysis, I'd guess that it's a grand 'ole mix of:
  1.  Having been brought up in "the true religion", I'm programmed to avoid everything else like it has Justin Beiber cooties on it.
  2. I consider someone's faith to be very personal, but somehow also a very everyday thing. I'd be equally as surprised if someone blogged about what it was like to live life as a caucasian female, acting like it's something special. I mean, "get over yourself".
  3. Because so many people aren't (or claim not to be) religious these days, finding someone that's so open about it reminds of me the moment I stumbled across that dancing pony advert. Fascinating in an 'oh, that's different, kinda way.'
I certainly don't think that it's wrong to blog about your religion, especially if it is a huge part of your life and you find your faith to be indispensable to your own wellbeing. With some such people I can't imaging them not mentioning their religion any more than them being able to remove their husband, kids or culture entirely from their blog. It's all part of what makes you-you right?  That all being said... There is a massive difference between going "Oh, we went to this amazing restaurant after church last week" and "Because we're such good Christians, we went to church last week and afterwards we found this amazing restaurant! Praise God for guiding us to that great steak and chips."  What do you think? Are you religious? If so, would you blog about it and if you do/don't, why? If you're not religious, do you follow any blogs that are and how do you feel about them?
