B1 and B2′s Rainbow Themed 2nd Birthday Party

Posted on the 04 March 2013 by Meltingmoments

As those of you who have seen my previous posts would know, B1 and B2 have just celebrated their second birthday. The theme for their party – colours of the rainbow.

It turned out to be a fabulous day spent celebrating with all our family and friends.

Originally, it was going to be at the park. Although, with torrential rain the two days prior, and a very threatening sky the morning of the party, we decided to take the safe road and we moved it indoors. Luckily, we had access to a scout hall as our backup option.

I am very lucky to have wonderful family and friends who helped out not only on the day, but some of them helping with the decorations and food ideas during the weeks prior.

My amazing, younger sister made some fabulous decorations. As well as taking on the job of rainbow marshmallows, rainbow biscuits and rainbow fudge.

My fantastic mom and older sister made some amazing rainbow cupcakes and ice cream cone cakes. As well as some rainbow Rice Bubble slice and Fruit Loop clusters.

I made some rainbow jelly cups and some very bright rainbow pancakes. As well as some rainbow fruit kebabs.

Other food covering our table on the day included: sandwiches triangles, carrot and celery sticks with salsa,  fairy bread, pretzels, and cut up fruit platters.

Then there was the cake, made by yours truly. This turned out better than I had imagined and needed its own post. You can read about it here.

There was some fun under the giant parachute…

And lots of rainbow outfits…

I am very happy with how the day turned out. Every bit of planning and preparation was well worth the effort but most importantly, B1 and B2 had a ball.
