Me+:
So, I took the weekend off from working out. Well, really only Sunday and Monday, but it really felt like a lifetime. Maybe it was because I not only didn't exercise, but I also ate poorly as well. I always promise to be honest and genuine in this blog. I hope you appreciate that, for better or worse.
It all started out well, I went for sushi on Friday night (yum salmon sashimi!) and ate a great breakfast on Saturday morning. However, Saturday night was as they say on Sports Centre "the TSN turning point". We were going out of town for a few days and we didn't have many groceries left at home, so we decided to order pizza...the next thing I knew I was eating cheese fries and a hot dog at Cedar Point. I officially fell of the wagon 'nutritionally' this weekend. I am an all or nothing kind of girl. A go big or go home kind of lass. However, I won't dwell on my nutritional blunders or bore you with the delicious details. I will tell you about getting back on track today!
Oh wait! I have to tell you about the awesome new bikini I bought this weekend. You can really never have enough bathing suits, right? On our road trip we made a pit stop at Target in Gibraltar (some little place in Michigan) where I got to play my favorite game: Walking up and and down the food isles pointing out all of the items that we don't have here in Canada.
I am pretty loyal to Roxy to meet all of my bikini needs, however at $100-$150 a pop, when I saw the 1000's of bikini's at Target for $17.95 (each for the top and bottom sold separately) I figured it couldn't hurt to try. As always, I had to try on about 107 different options. I am pleased to report some success! See?
No, I am not ready to post a picture of me actually WEARING the bikini.
My appointment with my trainer literally saved my butt this morning (we did squats). But the most important part of my day happened after my workout. After eating less than healthy for the last two days, the only thing I wanted was some lean protein and veggies. I was able to blend up a belly shake post workout and then make myself a greek chicken salad (cucumber, green & red pepper, tomatoes, olives & feta).
It would have been very easy for me to continue to stay "off the wagon" but I have started this 50 days of no sugar challenge with New Outlook Personal Training in Australia. It was supposed to start on July 1st and I have followed most of the rules-except for the pizza, fries and ice cream cake on my birthday, but I am officially starting today (I hope they don't mind). The biggest change I have made already is eliminating sugars and sweeteners from my coffee. It was actually pretty easy to do and it turns out that I actually like the taste of coffee. Here are the details in case anyone else in interested and you can follow along on twitter at #50daysnosugar & #fitsnap. The idea is basically that you follow the rules below and they also provide a food "guideline" to follow to help make your food choices easy and clean. I love this idea. I wish I had a friend that wanted to do it as well? Hint, hint. Anyone?
Next, I have completely re-committed to my food journal. I could see it in Kyle's eyes this morning when he asked for my food journal and I reported that I hadn't written it in 2 days. He was disappointed, so was I. The great news is I am 100% back on track today and I feel awesome. It's amazing what a difference even one day of clean eating can make. Kyle and I will blog about our actual workout tomorrow, so stay tuned (it wasn't pretty).
I also have a couple of other cool things happening. I have some samples of Zingbars (which are gluten free, wheat free & soy free bars) on the way to me so I can try them and blog about them. You can check them out at www.zingbars.com (but wait until I taste test them first before you buy them). I am also starting to work with Tap Water Bottle Company (www.tapwater-bottle.com) as a brand ambassador. Plus some other things as well, that I will fill you guys in on once I have a little bit more information for you!
Lastly, because I know you are just sitting on the edge of your seats...here are some pics from Cedar Point!!!
Happy Reading,
