Baby Must Haves: Gear

Posted on the 20 August 2013 by Wifessionals @wifessionals
Registering was so overwhelming for me as a first time mom. I read through hundreds of blog posts from other mamas and also compared tons of reviews. In the weeks that followed our baby shower, I was so happy to see so many moms state that their favorite products were ones on my registry! I am really confident in the items we chose, so I thought I would share our choices with you. I created a little mini series to cover all the major groups of items and gear that we own for our little one. I also plan to update you all as time passes and we use these things once she is born.
Go check out the items we already covered:
Baby Must Haves: Essentials

Baby Must Haves: Gear
Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System: I researched a ton of different options when it came to carseats. There were 2-3 that seemed to be the highest recommended among all of them. The KeyFit 30 was one of them. A few weeks after registering for the travel system, I noticed one of my friends owns it, so it was great for me to see how it works firsthand with a newborn. The carseat is not too heavy to easily carry around and I like that babies can grow into the stroller after they don't need the carseat to be attached to it.
Snugabunny Swing: I continuously see moms saying their babies love this! I know swings can be hit or miss - your baby might just not like them. It does take up more floor space, but it is sturdy and swings in 3 directions. I've seen many moms take back the swings they registered for and swap them out for this one.
Snugabunny Bouncer: Again, this always seems to get really high reviews. They also have a rocker in this line of gear, but I figured with the swing and bouncer we would probably be set. A lot of babies seem to like the fact that this bouncer vibrates and plays music.
Baby Jogger City Mini: I cannot say how much we love this stroller from what we have seen. It is so maneuverable and putting it together took about 5 seconds. Some people complained in reviews that you might hit your feet when walking it. Ryan and I both tried running and walking and neither of us had an issue. I could not believe how easy it is to get this thing around tight spaces and corners. It's a lot more compact and lighter than the KeyFit stroller, so I know this will be our go to stroller for outings.
4moms Breeze Playard: THIS is the best thing I registered for. I looked at a thousand playards and pack n' plays. I will do a complete review on this one item at some point. If you have ever seen a demonstration of how this works, you will understand why this is awesome. It is put together and opens in under 10 seconds. You can open and close it with one single move and only one hand. It is a little heavy, but I can still carry it around on my own. I love that it has the bassinet at the top that is completely removable. The bassinet and sides of the playard are mesh, so it's very breathable and also good for reducing SIDS risk. The biggest issue I had with other pack n' plays is that people would complain they would start to "sink" or not work as well after a few months. We made the decision to invest a little extra money and purchase this playard in hopes that it will last through all of our children. It also cut out my need to buy a separate bassinet.
Check out one of the sweetest ladies I know:
