I've always had an obsession with bags. Since I've had babies my obsession has, of course, changed to diaper bags. Here are a few bags that I've had:
My first bag was this pink and brown Carter's bag that I registered for at Babies 'R Us. If I remember correctly I received it at my first baby shower. My taste has definitely changed in the past 3 years since Bug was born. This is a cute bag but probably not something I would choose now. I think it was a pretty good bag, over all, as far as comfortable straps/strap length and interior space and pocket space. The bag also came with a waterproof bag for soiled clothes, a changing pad and a small insulated bag for a bottle. I ended up not liking the exterior fabric which was some kind of suede type material that got dirty easily and was hard to clean. I sold it on Craigslist after several months.
This pink and brown bag was my second bag. (Couldn't find a larger picture that I could post.) It was only about $14 at Walmart. It was cute and functioned well but I didn't really love or hate it. I did like the shiny plastic exterior because it was easy to clean. I also sold this one after several months.
Once we learned Little C was on the way I knew I had to do away with the pink, and I was getting tired of pink anyway. I fell in love with this awesome JJ Cole Swag Bag and registered for it at Target. I received it as a gift at my baby shower. I really loved everything about this bag!! I still miss it a little. I loved the four huge exterior pockets (perfect for sippy cups and even my own cup), plus several other pockets inside and out and the adjustable shoulder strap. The bag didn't show dirt and was easy to clean. It also came with stroller straps which I fell in love with! Now I have to have them. This bag also came with a changing pad and change purse. I sold this bag on Craigslst after about a year of daily use. After a year this bag still looked almost perfect and had tons of use left. I was just ready for something different and I've learned that if you know you're going to want to sell an item, and get your money's worth for it, you have to sell it while it's still nice. I would recommend this bag to anyone though. I loved it!
My fourth bag was this Fleurville Lexie Tote.* I love a lot about this bag! The two end pockets are huge and perfect for sippy cups (also for my own cup). There are 4 deep interior pockets, a zippered interior pocket and stroller straps. The bag also comes with a changing pad and small wipes case. The exterior is some kind of fancy plastic material (the Fleurville people have a word for it) and it cleans really easily. I love the material it's made of! This bag also has little "feet" which keep the bottom of the bag from ever resting on a surface. That's probably my favorite thing about this bag and I think every bag should have feet! Personally I got tired of the bright strips pretty quickly and wanted to get another bag to switch out with. I'm keeping this Lexie Tote (for awhile longer at least) but for me it's not something I want to use every single day. I would totally recommend this bag (it comes it several different colors and prints) to anyone. Fleurville also has bags in several other great styles... and all, or most, of their bags are made with same awesome material!
My latest and greatest bag is this awesome Storksak.* I've only had this one a few days and haven't gotten a lot of use out of it {yet} but so far I love it!! I love the fact that it looks like a purse but functions like a diaper bag! There are probably 6 or 7 interior pockets plus two huge, expandable exterior pockets. The bag holds way more than you would think! I plan to keep this bag for a long time. It doesn't come with the stroller straps but the bag does have "rings" on either end that will work perfectly with the stroller straps I already have from other bags. This bag has tiny little "feet" that really don't function well but I love the bag so much I can look past the non-functioning "feet". :)
I also use non-diaper bags from time to time. I bought this great straw tote from Target.com over the summer. As far as style I love it but it's pretty inconvenient to use as a diaper bag since there are no pockets. Still love the bag though for short outings and plan to use this a lot next summer.
*Edited: The Fleurville Lexie Tote and the Stocksak were bought in brand new condition off Craigslist for a fraction of their retail price! I search CL for what I'm looking for. Once I find a listing I'm interested in I will Google the heck out of it to make sure it's a product I'll really like. Then I'll go look at. If I do like it, I buy it. :)
