Bank Holiday MomentsBank Holiday MomentsHope you all had a lovely weekend. Here in the UK we had a bank holiday, yaaassss hello 3 day weekend! And with it came a rare occurrence of glorious weather over all 3 days too which was warmly received. The sun always seems to greatly increase and brighten my mood. I was determined to make the most of the delightful weather whilst it graced us with it's presence.
Bank Holiday MomentsFriday evening was a chilled one, catching up with my parents and grandparents before heading over to Dan's to spend time with him. Then Saturday I headed home to get ready to meet my parents in Newcastle to grab some food at Harry's bar, where I stuffed my face with potato skins and pizza. Their strawberry and marshmallow skewer was mouth watering! Then headed to the Theatre Royal to see the production of The Kite Runner. My Dad had gotten my Mam and I tickets for Christmas last year and he managed to get a ticket last minute so he could join us. The show is based on the book of the same name which I read back in sixth form, a story that I found so powerful to read so I was looking forward to seeing how it was adapted as a play. It is a very moving story about redemption and loyalty. I thought the production of it was great too, they had a small cast who I noticed a few actors/actresses had multiple parts and the set wasn't over the top and didn't have a lot of effects and scenes which I thought was interesting as it really didn't need much to set the scene and also reinforced how powerful the story is.Bank Holiday MomentsBank Holiday MomentsBank Holiday MomentsI spent Sunday morning and early afternoon relaxing in the garden with my Mam and Luna. I think Luna even found the sun too much for her at times as she seemed to sleep a lot and lie in the shade for most of the afternoon. We joked about investing in a paddling pool specifically for dogs for her to cool off in. I'm sure such a thing will exist somewhere. I took the opportunity whilst it was sunny, to dig out my DSLR, which I haven't done in a really long time and practice using my Canon (name of lense here) lense to take some shots of the beautiful cherry blossom tree that we have in the garden as the zoom and clarity is incredible for getting those close up shots. I also played around taking photos of Luna relaxing in the garden too. She looks like a little dog model.Bank Holiday MomentsLater in the afternoon I took Luna up to my friend's house for a doggy play date, where she got to play with a few of my friend's labradors, which was so adorable to see them all together. The Lab Squad. After the doggy play date, I headed over Dan's for a delicious bbq with his family and relaxed on the decking area in the sunshine talking with his family until the sun went in and then the two of us watched the film Game Night. It was easy enough to watch but had a predictable story line.Bank Holiday MomentsBank Holiday MomentsI was determined to go out on Monday and make the most of the weather so we drove into Durham for a delicious meal and then spent the afternoon having a wander around the city center before ending the trip with a relaxing stroll down the river bank before heading back. All in all it has been a wonderful weekend. I'm feeling recharged and refreshed now for the week ahead.
Thanks for reading! What did you get up to this weekend?
