Basil' Pizza and Pasta Marikina food
Located along Mayor Gil Fernando in Marikina Engineering area is Basil' Pizza and Pasta Marikina. They serve a wide range of meals including some American and Italian dishes but specialize in pastas and of course, their wood‐fired pizzas.
The place looks small from afar but they use their spaces pretty well. I think the plants around were one of the reasons which makes the feel here a bit compact but you'll understand it once you get inside about the whys. Plants as area dividers, for aesthetic purposes, and natural cooling systems? Why not, right?

Their alfresco dining place is pretty simple but with a touch of elegance. Their interior has a mix of Asian and European feels which works for me, actually. Is this a normal Italian casual setup? Haven't been to Italy so I can't really tell.

By the way, the foods we tried here are the following:
chicken tenders
chicken parmesan (parmigiana)
pollo arrosto
garlic parmesan chicken wings
These chicken meals above are nice. If you don't want to explore much of their menu, they are the typical go-to food items in their list. The sauce of the chicken parmigiana was balanced which was very nice (not too sour), the pollo arrosto was a good option if you don't like fried foods like mom, but feel free to spread the toppings on their chicken wings around the chicken pieces so you get to maximize the eating experience every bite.

This capricciosa pizza was delicious despite those black olives which I always separate when present. Haha!Dad ordered this.. Though I honestly expected more since furnaced pizzas usually taste superb, I may have to try their other flavors if this was IT already.
Basil Marikina dining
If there is one thing to commend on our experience here is their fast service. I was actually amazed by how fast our orders came literally just a few minutes after ordering. Good job, Basil. Looking forward to trying out the other pizza flavors the next time.
