…be a Little Bit Mad

“You know what the issue is with this world? Everyone wants some magical solution to their problem and everyone refuses to believe in magic.”

Lewis Carroll

It’s not hard to look at our world today and see the craziness. But what about the madness? Not the anger, not the insanity, but that little spark of madness. Today, we take a page out of one who is defined by madness, and celebrate Mad Hatter Day. Now let’s begin at the beginning…

Why is today Mad Hatter Day? Well for a perfectly obvious, but less than logical reason—the Hatter’s hat.

See it? It reads 10/6. Sure, the 10/6 is the price of the hat, not a date, but isn’t it appropriate that Mad Hatter Day is a bit nonsensical?

Today is a day for madness of the Hatter variety…

Which as any visitor to Wonderland knows comes with a touch of the absurd, yes, but this headpiece hero and perpetual host of one heck of tea party has more wit about him than actual insanity.

With all that’s going on in today’s world, we could all use a touch of madness…within reason. So let your freak flag fly. Give into the folly, and always remember to avoid (at all costs) ever taking yourself too seriously. Seriousness is seriously overrated.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”

Lewis Carroll
