Why does it always seem that every project comes to a head all at the same time? There is true validity in the expression, “When it rains, it pours.” This is surely the case with my life at the moment. It is crunch time.
I am chairing an event for a great organization in town…the event is on Sunday. I have co-written and co-directed a children’s play….the performance is on Monday. I am preparing one group of children for an end of year performance and learned mostly all new songs for it….the rehearsal classes started yesterday. Finally, I am needing to prepare another group of children for their Kindergarten graduation and am just learning the details for that performance. Yes, I am feeling a bit under the gun.
I am a person who strives on being busy. It’s funny, but I seem to get more accomplished the busier I am. I think it’s because I am forced into organizing my time and sticking to a very precise schedule. Otherwise, I am a pretty loosey goosey person.
The key to it all is being prepared…being two steps ahead and thinking out every detail and what can go wrong before it happens. I have all sorts of weird and perhaps unorthodox methods….but somehow, I know it works. That is why my song today is “Be Prepared” from “The Lion King.” I am feeling those words ringing through my head with every breathing moment lately.
