Hello lovelies! At the start of the month I had been thinking of new content for my Blog and as August is my favorite month, (being my birthday month) I thought I'd give this 'Favourites' malarky a try!
Some of these you may recognize from my big haul I did as I was really impressed with some of those that I bought back then. These are definitely products I'll continue to go back to in the future. Let me know in the comments: 1) If you have tried any of these and your thoughts and 2) What have you been loving in August. Happy reading!
Before I dive into the products, one of the main things I have been loving is my new Remington Silk Curling Wand which I have been using religiously (after using heat protection of course!), as my hair is starting to get to the desired length and I'm able to do more things with it. I think this product is fantastic! The effect lasts for a few days too so it saves time when I'm getting ready on a morning. A friend of mine used it on a trip to Leeds earlier in the year and the effect looked lovely. After months of indecisiveness, I caved and bought it and it has been the best purchase I've ever made! It was a lot cheaper than I expected as I got it during a price reduction. I confess I have burnt myself a few times but that is just me being a fail at life as I've never used a curling wand where you have to wrap your hair around it before. I'll either leave it super curly or I'll use my tangle teaser and lightly brush the curls to leave more of a wave to my hair.
Can I just note how cute this shell plate is please?!
I got 2 from Matalan and I think they are just the cutest little things.
BarryM Cosmetics Lipstick in 129 Lavender
After seeing a SunBeamsJess Youtube video where she goes through her lipstick collection, she had a Mac Snob lipstick which I thought was such a pretty color and would be a good change from my standard pale pinks I use. However I am not a 'Mac Girl' so I decided to hunt around for a dupe or at least one a similar shade and for a small price tag. This lipstick has such a creamy feel on the lips, it doesn't dry them out either and I think the shade looks lovely with sunkissed or tanned skin.
Benefit The Pore Fessional
This one is obviously old news, but I'm new to the party and now I understand why there is such hype over it. I tend to get an unattractive sheen on my nose and chin which I normally use powder on. However I decided to try this out and put it in those 'problem areas' and I've really noticed a difference. It reduces the sheen completely and it feels really soft on my skin. I usually apply it under my foundation, although it does say you can apply it over it too.
Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Spray
I've always heard that Argan Oil is good for hair growth, so I bought this with that idea in mind. I'm still trying to grow my hair as it is not at my goal length yet (not far off now though!). I only spray it on the ends of my hair (dip dyed bits) to help with making it healthier and I think this product has helped with the appearance of it. I have also been told very recently that my hair has grown a lot too. The only thing I would advise with this is to only spray a small amount, I made the mistake when I first used it and my looked SO greasy so be careful to only use little spritz.
Urban Fudge Sea Salt Spray
Another hair care product here. I had been after sea salt spray for ages but I was never sure which one would work so I had bought a few. This one was the best out of the 3 as it really texturised my hair and made it voluminous the way I wanted it to be. It also smells of coconut so it leaves your hair smelling good too.Benefit Watts Up! Highlighter
My goodness! I could rave so much about this! I normally would not use a highlighter when putting on my makeup but I remember seeing a BeccaRose Youtube video and she mentions a Topshop one, so I originally went into town to get that one but came out with the Benefit one instead and I'm so pleased because it is amazing! It has a creamy feel to it and leaves a lovely dewy glow to your skin which makes my skin look radiant so it gets a big thumbs up from me.
Rimmel London Lipstick in 006 Pink Blush
I am absolutely obsessed with Rimmel lipsticks. Aside from the BarryM one, I think all of my lipsticks are from Rimmel. I normally go for pink shades as I think they suit me better than red or darker shades especially for during the day time. This one is very pale pink so it just gives a little something extra to a natural/daytime makeup face. (It looks dark on my photo but it isn't in real life!)
Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm
I have a really bad problem with dry lips and I've tried all sorts: Burts Bees, Chapstick, Nivea, Babylips, Vaseline, Carmex, you name it, I'll have probably tried it. But this one is by far the best one I have ever used and I use it all the time to the point where I buy them in 3s because I love it that much haha! Although the smell of it is not all sunshine and roses, it really does the job for my lips and moisturises them really well and I use it before applying any lipsticks or even just on it's own and it works wonders.Benefit Erase Paste
Again, probably another old news products but new for myself and again I can see why people like it so much. I have really bad dark circles under my eyes and I've used Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and Touch Eclat which I think work great too and I use those as well but I have recently started to use Erase Paste and it is fantastic! It completely hides the dark circles and you don't even need to put loads of product on your skin so it lasts for ages. I'm really happy I've tried this.
