Because When It Comes to Complicated, Technical Blog Stuff, I Am Not an Autodidactic Person.

I’m going through this weird phase where I don’t like my blog design… AGAIN. This happens every so often after I come up with a compromise on its appearance by messing around with the Custom Design option I bought for $30. I told myself that $30 was something I could afford, whereas $200+ to transfer my blog to WordPress.org and then get a design revamp, I couldn’t so much afford. But, something just doesn’t feel right with my blog anymore. I actually started regretting switching over from Blogger last night, because it was an awesome platform to be on if you couldn’t afford the site design and whatnot of WordPress. Blogger designs don’t cost as much in my experience, and I also knew how to put together a better makeshift design with their platform than I can with WordPress. But, alas, I’m not switching back to Blogger (that would be just stupid), so I came to two conclusions.

1) I do lots of research and teach myself how to switch over to self-hosted WordPress and design my own blog, or

2) I consider getting serious about saving money to revamp the place.

You see, when I envision Her Silent Musings, I see white not purple. I also see a circular picture of my face in the left sidebar with a small ‘about me’ section written in a pretty font with an elegant header bearing my blog title and tag line. I see elegant sidebar headers and a matching blog button. Some gray, purple, burgundy in the color palette; matching social media buttons consisting of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Goodreads, RSS feed, email, Instagram, Tumblr, and Google+, even though I don’t use it that much.

Right now, everything about my life is makeshift from my blog to my bedroom (none of my furniture matches). I’ve always been okay with that (my bedroom is really starting to grow on me since I finally got around to replacing the light-bulb in my ceiling fan), but my unhappiness with my blog’s appearance is a recent development. As recent as Saturday, actually. So, my new goal is to come up with a total of how much it would cost to have my blog switched over to WordPress.org (because, let’s be honest, I’m not going to take the time to do it) and get a redesign, work on saving the money for it, and then boom.

Well, hopefully, boom. I suspect more kersplat.
