This weekend I watched a message given by Nick Vujicic. If you have never heard this man speak, I recommend that you google him immediately. Every time I hear him share his story, I am so uplifted and encouraged by him. In part of his message he made the statement that we really don't need to worry about what people are saying to the right and left of us...we need to set our focus on who is above us and realize that our value and purpose is in Him.
There are three main things that I strive for when it comes to my blog. I want to create community and encouragement among women. I want to provide a platform where people can come and find helpful and useful information. I want to have a place to share parts of my life and connect with other friends.
It doesn't matter if you are blogging or just living "real life" - you will always stumble across people that don't agree with what you are saying or others who don't "like you". But you have to get to a point where you are confident in what you are doing and you keep your focus on that. My feelings have definitely been hurt in the past by some things that have happened surrounding this blog, and I know that they will probably be hurt again in the future. But I finally made the decision that none of that really mattered to me. What matters is that I stay true to what my goals are for my little space on the internet. As long as I am trying to create community, striving to encourage others and providing ways for people to connect - I am at peace.
