I’ve been super slack on the blogging front lately. I’ve been so wrapped up in the last little bits of planning and I’m still wading through finishing off alllllll the details. I know it will be worth it in the end but I think that my constant quest for perfection (which of course doesn’t exist) puts unnecessary pressure on our wedding and me.
One job jobbed this week was Bertie’s makeover. We decided that my dad and I would head to the ceremony in my car, Bertie Beetle, as he’s cute and quirky. However, our lack of accommodation for Bertie and the cold harsh winters we’ve had recently have taken their toll on him. We decided to splash the cash that we would have spent to rent some swish wheels for a few hours on giving out little love bug a revamp.
I dropped him off at the VW Spa in Welling on Monday morning looking like this (with rust galore and a few car park dents on his front wings)…
And he came back on Saturday morning with new cream side panels and a shiny new wing…
I love his new look! After all the stress and tears of this week his little refurb has really put a smile on my face. He’s already received several kind comments; one at the tip and one in Tesco’s car park – yes my life is that glam.
My dad and Garry were tasked with buffing him today, to ensure that he gleams on the big day, but all AutoGlym activity was rained off, much to their delight might I add (lazy boys).
I can’t wait to decorate him with the flower garlands and ivory ribbons that I’ve purchased especially for the wedding. I think that he’s going to do us all proud in just under two weeks.
