I actually bought a new vacuum just before Christmas which I returned very swiftly as despite the great reviews of the brand, it wouldn't go over our living room rug and in handheld mode it jammed and stopped working whilst I was cleaning my stairs and my bed (yep, when you have four cats who use your bed as their own you do have to vacuum your bed covers haha!).Not long after that, and as fate would have it, I actually received an email from BISSELL asking if I would like to try out their brand new ICON cordless vacuum cleaner. It was perfect timing and so I jumped at the chance!
The first thing that I noticed about the ICON after taking it out of the box was the sleek modern design which I love and then I noticed the LED lights along the bottom. I'd always wondered what difference having LED lights on a vacuum made, and I can now confirm that they are in fact, a game changer! 
The ICON's LED lights make it so that I can actually see how clean (or not) my floors are. It's amazing how many previously invisible crumbs and bits of hair there actually is on the floors and the ICON highlights this easily so that I know without even thinking where I need to vacuum most. During these darker colder months and in the evenings, it's amazing.
The ICON also has a tangle-free brush roll which for someone with long hair and a shaggy living room rug, is very handy! It means no more cutting hair and bits of our rug out of the bottom of our vacuum! Another thing I love about the ICON is that it's easy to maneuver. I much prefer cordless vacuums not only because it makes clearing up after the boys easier and quicker, but because I have a back condition and so I need my vacuum to be lightweight and easy to move about. The ICON easily gets under chests of drawers, tables and other furniture without much effort at all. It also lasts for nearly 20 minutes on full power mode and 50 minutes on the lower setting, which is amazing considering it's cordless. (There are three power settings to choose from). 
Switching the ICON to a handheld vacuum is simple and effortless too, it's just one simple click. And what's amazing is that the ICON actually has an LED light on the crevice tool which comes with a retractable brush. The LED light on this part of the vacuum is something that is completely unique to the ICON. It makes vacuuming dark corners and finding sneaky cobwebs a total breeze!
Emptying the ICON is also pretty effortless and also mess-free. It's Smart Seal Allergen System features a no-touch chamber. It has a unique sliding mechanism which collects and then traps dust, allergens and hair, so is perfect for those who have someone that suffers from allergies in the house. 
I really like that it can also be mounted, we have ours away in a cupboard that we had built to hide our water tank and it's so convenient to be able to put it away like that and have it on charge ready for when we want to use it next. It can be mounted on to the back of a door, in a broom cupboard, a cloakroom or anywhere else that you might want to put it and the handy digital power display tells you when it's ready to use again. 
I can already tell that the ICON is my favorite of the different vacuum cleaner brands that I have tried. There are so many positives to it and I find it hard to fault it. The only thing I can think of is that I have had a couple of occasions where I have had bits that have been sucked up fall back out of it after I've turned it off. But one of those times I found I had a slight block in the pipe which was easily sorted.
Overall, our new ICON from BISSELL has really impressed me, especially so as it goes over my high-maintenance living room rug and then back onto the hard floor with ease whilst also leaving behind some beautiful vacuum lines and making our rug look really fluffy and clean again.
It picks up crumbs and even cat litter really well and the LED light has turned out to be something I didn't know that I really needed it!
I also couldn't believe how much it picked up the first time I used it after I had already vacuumed with my previous vacuum cleaner! It amazed me! I now feel that my floors are getting a really good vacuum!
