Good Morning! Tiffanie from High Heels, Boots & Binkies is guest blogging here today. Please be sure to stop by her blog and say Hi!!
Hello everyone! I am Tiffanie from High Heels, Boots, and Binkies. I‘m here to tell you a little bit about myself and about my favorite “holiday”. I am a mommy to a wonderful little boy who just turned one. He is my life and I couldn’t imagine one second of my life without him. I am a wife to a loving, hardworking husband. He is my best friend and my rock. I know if I’ve had a hard day I can talk to him about anything and he will lift my spirits.
Since all the gushy stuff is out of the way I can talk about my FAVORITE time of year! BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!! Some of you may not like Black Friday; others may like it only when the stores have cleared from the madness, while others (like me) live for Black Friday. I am one of those people that will prepare for the next Black Friday starting the day after the current one. I check out all the ads early and get my route planned out. If you have ever seen the Target commercials of the crazy lady on Black Friday then you will understand what I’m like on this day. If you have never seen these commercials… trust me it’s worth a google. I will now share some of my tips and secrets for conquering Black Friday.
1. Check out the ads: Look to see what stores are selling and pay special attention to times. Some stores will offer an extra percentage off if you come before certain hours.
2. Compare prices: If you are looking for one specific thing check all the ads to see who has it cheaper.
3. Bring the ads with you: Many stores offer a “price match” guarantee. Last year Walmart price matched an activity table I was buying for my son that Target had on sale.
4. Arrive early and park close to the exit: No need to go into details on this one. I’m sure many of you know how crazy the line can be. I always arrive at least 3 hours before the store even opens to get in line. Parking close to the exit gives you a fast get away to go to the next store.
5. Bring a buddy: This works best for splitting up in the store and covering more ground. It also helps by letting you get out of the store sooner. (Tip: make sure your phones are charged so you can call each other to meet at the checkout).
6. Make a list and stick to your budget: It’s easy to get lured in by something you see in the store. The bad thing about this is you will spend all your money on something you didn’t plan for and then lose your money for something different that you wanted. This is another reason why it’s important to check out the ads.
7. Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes: It’s always good to be comfortable. (Tip: if you stand in line for 3 hours like I do… Hot Hands are your best friend).
8. Keep cash and valuables close to you: Face it… we don’t live in the nicest world. Protect yourself and your valuables. I always put away my big purse that I normally carry and bring my purse that I can through on like a one shoulder back pack.
9. Don’t bring children: God love them… but they only slow you down. Not only that, but I wouldn’t want to bring my son around all these crazy people to get pushed around.
10. Make sure you have room in your car: This was my mistake last year. I have no idea why it slipped my mind but I had to return home after 2 stores to unload.
I hope you all enjoyed my tips! Please check out my blog and take a look at my Black Friday tab for more information. As it gets closer to the main event I will be planning out my route of attack!
Happy Shopping,
Tiffanie
