Black Magic

Grey quilt crumpled, pillows propped
My legs entangle the bedspread into white wavesBlinds split up light entering my roomMy elbows support a hefty book to my face
Placing my lips to the rhythm of the taleIs how my mind explores the bruised and deadCharacters fill my mind, come to lifeAnd fill a dreaded empty space
Bracing my mistakes, vague as hellMust have been black magic, 'm so sureHow else could a rabbit roarAnd have the forest eye him like a monster
Conspiracy, vining tales of rumors, spread like fireTurning the people you trust against youI think I had a schedule today, things to doIt's the black magic, that's holding me down and blue
How else could a rabbit roarAnd the forest eye him like a monster ready to strikeMy eyes feel heavy, but I want to consume the charactersThey never betray me, always remain in my life
