Good morning and welcome to the day after Thanksgiving, aka Black Friday. It’s the day those of use who value our lives and sanity steer clear of anything that remotely resembles a place of retail, while those made of sterner shopping stuff than I set out for a deal (and perhaps a battle or two).
Although at this point, I think we can all agree that the term “Black Friday” has become a bit of a misnomer. Many retailers start their sales well ahead of the actual day, and when you consider the interruption that’s deliberately posed against a holiday that’s meant to inspire gratitude…it’s a little soul-crushing.
Still, I respect that for many, staking out spots in line and elbowing out other shoppers has become somewhat of a tradition, so in the spirit of the holiday that Black Friday sprung up around, I’ll allow you your own personal customs. So, however you choose to spend this day, I hope it’s safe and successful.
…bi-daily smile…
