Blame It on the Bratwurst

I was a bit confused recently as to why a blog I wrote before the public sector march in Manchester at the end of November seemed to be so popular (currently my most popular blog to date). I wouldn't call it one of my better efforts.
When I dug down a bit deeper into the stats all became apparent. It seems that my success is due to a picture of a Bratwurst I'd used to illustrate a trip to the Christmas Markets - the second most popular picture of a Bratwurst on the Internet. It turns out that people weren't so interested in what I was writing. Just my sausage.
Blame it on the Bratwurst
I thought I was the only one searching for the perfect image of a Bratwurst. Apparently not. There are hundreds of us!
While most of my page views come through Facebook and Twitter, it prompted me to look at which other google searches people have used and ended up on my site.
Searches for Freddie Mercury and Lech Walesa are right up there which is fair enough as I've blogged about both. But it's some of the weirder ones make me think - who and more importantly why would you search for this combination of words. There are some very odd people around!
Here are some of the stranger ones:
  • Husbands who don't let you forget.
  • Naked Germans.
  • T*ts with Christmas lights.
  • Raft made of logs.
  • Lycra in the gym.
  • Men rubbing their ...........
  • My jugs in cake mix.

I don't know whether it says more about my readers or what I'm writing about!
