I love Twitter. I love it because it exposes me to people, opportunities and experiences I’d never hear about otherwise. I made one such discovery yesterday thanks to my reply to a tweet by @RachelintheOC. A conversation started in which I learned about a fantastic giveaway sponsored by The Indie Book Collective to support our troops.
Blog Tour de Troops
Starting May 27 and continuing through May 30, join the blog hop and receive a free eBook for yourself and one for a service member. You can designate a specific person to receive this gift, or donate it and the Indie Book Collective will donate the freebies to organizations requesting reading material for troops for distribution.
How Do I Take the Tour?
Start off at author Amber Scott’s blog. Read her post and comment, and voila! You get a free copy of Amber’s book “Play Fling” – one for you and one for the Marine, sailor, solder, airman, coastie of your choice! If you don’t know one, again, you can leave it up to the IBC to distribute. As of yet, it’s unclear which organization they’ll be donating the free eBooks to.

There are over 30 authors take part in the blog tour. Genres include paranormal romance, fantasy, nonfiction, women’s fiction, scifi, mystery and more. I’m betting if you’re a book lover like me, you’re going to find something new and interesting to read.

Spread the word! Tweet, text, and Facebook to get the word out. More participation means more eBooks for our troops!

My Reasons for Supporting This Charity Event
I was immediately on board to support this cause for a few reasons:
I’m a Marine wife, so anything that benefits our service members honestly and honorably is good to go with me.
I love to read. Combine this with love, affection and appreciation for our military, it’s the perfect marriage of two of my favorite things.
I think a blog tour is a great idea and a truly unique way for The Indie Book Collective to support the troops.
