Blowpop Martinis & Good Friends

This weekend I had a great time with my friends! I threw my first ever post Valentines Day celebration which I called a “I Hate Valentine’s Day Celebration” even though none of us actually hate the day. Honestly, it was just an excuse to get everyone together and have a good time! The great thing about celebrating an event after it has passed is the fact that everything goes on sale! All the red I seen at the beginning of February was now 50% off.  I was able to grab candy and other little odds and ends at a great price. I basically chose a popular pizza joint to have the event because I knew that it would be the perfect place where we could enjoy a bunch of laughs and great conversation. What started off as an event for about 12 people actually turned out to be an event for 6 and although some people didn’t show up, I still had a fabulous time and enjoyed myself. Anytime an event starts at 3pm and the night doesn’t end until almost 2am, you know you’re having a great time! After more than a few blowpop martinis, a great dinner, a movie (Ghost Rider-Horrible), more martinis, and a bunch of laughs, my ass was officially worn out and I had to literally crawl out my car, to my door, and into my bed. My theme for the evening was pink and black and I chose to rock a Lane Bryant sweater in a gorgeous shade of pink, some black jeggings, Chinese Laundry black boots, my beautiful Betsey Johnson ballerina necklace, and an awesome red and pink suede hobo made by Jana Feifer.

As with any event I host, I gave my guest a goodie bag just for graciously coming out. The goodie bag consisted of Stila lip Glaze, Tropical Scented Candles, Super Cute nail files, Bath & Body Works Products, Starbucks Coffee Packets and of course candy. I opted for Skittles and Hersey Kisses that were nicely packed in heart shape canisters. If you recall my previous blog about hosting events, a gracious host will always provide tokens of appreciation to their guest. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just something to show that you appreciate them for coming out. I also gave away an itunes gift card to the guest who correctly guessed the number of pink gumballs I had in a canister that had LOVE on it : )

The evening turned out fabulous and I learned that love doesn’t always have to be shown by a significant other in romantic form. I have been shown more love this past week by friends and family that simply made me forget about being single. As I told one of my friends this week, despite any circumstances that may have occurred in my love life, I’m genuinely a happy person with a lot of love in my heart and for that I am  truly blessed.
