Boogers & Breathing Treatments

Motherhood is filled with so many wonderful things. But Sickness is definitely the worst part of it. Nobody likes getting sick. This is pretty much a fact. But when your child gets sick it's the worst. It's like being sick x's 3! You want to cuddle them up in a nice warm blanket, with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and feety pajamas (like it is in the moves) But it doesn't really work that way. Instead your day is filled with crankiness, breathing treatments, booger suckers, steaming bathrooms, more tissues, more crankiness another breathing treatment and more tissues. It's one of those things that you wish you could "take away" and make them feel better :0) My Brandi is sick. It makes me a nervous mommy because of her past. When Brandi was born we lived in a dumpy apartment with a leaky roof and an attic full of black mold. At 4 weeks old Brandi was put on a nebulizer for bronchitis, by 4 months she had Croup and Pneumonia. With numerous colds and other upper respiratory infections in between. Since we have moved into our new home she has not needed a breathing treatment until today. (a little off topic but I have to take a moment to tell you that my current landlord is an angel, he came to us and asked if we wanted to move into our current home when Brandi was just 7 months old, and I truly believe in my heart that he saved the lives of my girls by getting us out of where we were. I know he will never read this, but if by chance he does....) When I hear her cough, or wheeze it makes me think back to the countless nights f treatments I had to do then. I am so thankful that part of my life is over. Even though she is sick, I know it's just a cold, and not her lungs being poisoned by black mold.
