Trouble Has A New Name

by Adite Banerjie

The Blurb

“Will you pretend to be my fiancé for the next few days?”

Recently-single model Rayna Dutt does not feel like flying to her friend’s big fat Indian wedding. But she does – and when a mix up with room allocations forces her to share a luxury villa on Emerald Isle with the gorgeous owner of the hotel – Neel Arora – and best man at the wedding, things begin to look up.

Until Rayna’s ex turns up with a new girl on his arm!

Hitting the panic button, Rayna searches for a solution. Surely Neel wouldn’t mind being her fake fiancé…? In an instant the attraction they share is fever pitch, but when scandal comes calling, Rayna soon finds herself in more trouble than she can handle!

Trouble Has A New Name

My Review

“Trouble Has A New Name” centers around Rayna and Neel, their lives past and present. The book begins with Rayna rushing off to her best friend’s wedding and ends with…hey – why should I tell you?

So – back to the book.

It is the perfect setting – a big fat Indian wedding in the picturesque Andaman islands, a feisty heroine who has just broken up with her boyfriend, her meeting with a drop-dead-gorgeous Tall Dark and Handsome hero who has his own past to deal with, BFFs, gossip-mongers and the supporting characters that complete the various situations.

As Neel and Rayna are thrown together a lot, they are predictably and are attracted to each other. They become close, share their insecurities and their pasts and feel their defenses slipping away as they irrevocably draw closer.

And as they share unexpected precious moments, they should walk away into the sunset, laughing, happily ever after, like the couple in the wedding around which most of the book revolves, right?

Wrong.

Unforeseen events intervene and Neel and Rayna find themselves moving on, even as they eventually realize that they have found true love in each other.

What goes down must come up, no?

Will Fate bring everyone together, tie the loose ends and rein in this lovely romantic story to a happy conclusion?

Read the book to find out!

What I loved:

The language, writing style is very pleasant, replete with humor, one-on-ones with BFFs, the inevitable attraction between the hero and heroine and some steamy scenes. And of course, romance. I enjoyed Rayna’s self talk and her “RBIL” series. I liked the conversations.

Trouble has a new name” is a delightful, quick and easy read a la Mills and Boon. I haven’t read an M & B for decades now, and thoroughly relished this book, which reminded me of one of my Mom’s favorite M & B authors back in the time (I am thinking Roberta Leigh /Rachel Lindsay) whose books were far from mushy – and had memorable characters that every reader dreams of meeting in real life.

Would I recommend the book?:

Yes!
