Borrowed Inspiraion for Your Week: Cool Down for the End of Summer

Posted on the 26 August 2013 by Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Fellow bloggers these last few weeks have been crazy.  I’ve finally started grad school and even though I just know I’ll be buried under a pile of work every week I’m so excited.  The classes are fantastic and I’m looking forward to diving in.  Of course, because in my life things don’t just happen in steps but in waves, I’ve also had more job interviews in the last week than I have all summer.  I’ll be hearing back about whether or not I’ve gotten them soon…so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I can’t tell you how excited I am about the prospect of working regular hours, having weekends off, and doing work I actually care about (no offense to the retail trade…but…yeah).

Since this is the last week of August and then we’ll all be back in fall mode (almost time for the holidays…can you believe it??) but I’d like to savor what’s left of the summer, and what’s better than a crafty sweet treat to finish out the summer.

These ice cream bar cell phone cases/mini wallets are the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer. You kind find the patterns here on the very cool Straight Stitch Society’s website.  All you need is fabric, keyrings, and snaps.

And for some more borrowed inspiration, here are some more hand stitched smart phone cases (all brought to you by the mammoth time saver that is google images.)

So what are your plans for today?  Any cool crafts on the horizon?
