Borrowed Inspiration for Your Week

This weekend was a whirlwind of all kinds of things.  Work, parties, family dinners, finishing awesome books, etc…

With the new schedule it’s getting and harder and harder to find the motivation to get my work done for grad school, so I’ve started making deals with myself.  Such as, if you finish this paper by noon you get a treat.  Well, after getting up early Saturday, going for a jog and heading to the library I did manage to get my paper done, and here was my treat, brought to you for your viewing pleasure (and me for my eating pleasure) by Bissengers:

Macarons!  I was going to savor them slowly but you really do have to try each flavor to start, figure out which ones are worth giving away and which ones need to be guarded.  Unfortunately they were all delicious.  Macarons weren’t something my family had a lot…ever.  In fact, I can’t remember a time we’ve ever had them, except maybe parties where they have a bunch of pastries on a tray and everything seems to be picked over when you get there.

These are, I’m sure, not the best out there, in fact there’s a French Patisserie about ten minutes from my house that makes them fresh daily (I’m thinking that’ll be my next paper incentive) but they are still delicious.  And the fact that they’re boxed makes them a great gift ideas.

And they’re pretty.  So here are some more pretty pictures for you, to inspire you to…eat? I guess.  Or make macarons, but I’d much prefer to eat them.
