Good morning fellow bibliophile-crafter-bloggers! Hope you all had a pleasant weekend and got as many projects accomplished and books read as you possibly could. I did not have quite the productive weekend I was hoping for because I was tired. Lame excuse, I know, but there it is. Do you ever have those weekends where you’re just so exhausted it’s all you can do to turn on the t.v. and stare? That’s pretty much me this weekend (aside from the whole having to work 7hour shifts at the retail job). Anyway, after an exciting nine hours of sleep last night I’m hoping to jump back up and get plenty accomplished this week.
Here’s my progress on the Treky-Stitch:
As you can see I’ve finally managed to finish the entire black background. Finally! I can tell you that got pretty tedious. Now that it’s finished it looks pretty good (still not sure why the packager thought white was the best fabric color to use for this one…probably should have changed that out myself. Live and learn). Now that all the background is done, however, I feel quite proud of myself for sticking it out.
Here’s a close up of the white space yet to be filled in. As you can see by process of elimination the final captain to be stitched is Picard, so that will be my next adventure. Getting close to finished with this one! Pretty excited to move on to something new.
And, in case you’re looking for a new project to stitch I have a couple Dr. Who projects for all of you nerds out there who might not be the Star Trek fan I am, but hey, we can love more than one thing, that’s what being a nerd is all about.
Disappearing Tardis bookmark, so all of you Whovian bibliophiles can show your support while reading your favorite book. Unfortunately this isn’t a free pattern, but you can get it on etsy here for only $2.75
This one is a free pattern found via Pinterist. It’s designed to be put on an iphone cross-stitch case but you could use the design for something else too (even a bookmark if you’re so inclined I guess). The pattern creator does ask that you don’t take the pattern and sell it though (that pretty much goes without saying, but just in case you’re so inclined…don’t).
Both of these Dr. Who patterns would take about a day to stitch, so if you’re looking for something quick to do this weekend these might be perfect for you!
Enjoy your week and hope this borrowed inspiration helps to get you on a crafty path. Keep coming back to the blog for more updates not only on the craftiness but on the bookish things too!
