…bow Down

On Sunday evening, just before Best Picture hit the fan, something wonderful happened. A whole new corner of the world discovered the wonder that is Olivia Colman as she won an Oscar for "The Favourite."

If you somehow missed her acceptance speech, don't worry, I found it for you...

In addition to being one of those rare moments of genuine Oscar surprise and some bonafide Hollywood magic, it was also a grand and glorious introduction, befitting a queen.

I mean that as a term of respect, a nod to the role of Queen Anne whom she portrayed in "The Favourite," and as a not-so-subtle reminder that she will join "The Crown" as Queen Elizabeth II once the show returns for its third season.

So, this What to Watch Wednesday is dedicated to all things Olivia Colman, be warned, you're going to love them all...

"The Night Manager"

Although Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston were very much the faces of this mini-series. Olivia Colman plays the intelligence officer that...I won't tell you what she does, but it's awesome and you should watch it. It's available on Amazon Prime.

"Broadchurch"

If you tried to watch the U.S. version, all I'll say is, this is so much better (but good for you if you liked the American version). I found it was lacking one critical, Academy-Award-winning piece. And as a bonus, you'll get to see some of Jodie Whittaker's (the reigning Time Lord of "Doctor Who" to you and me) pre-TARDIS work (and coincidentally...you guessed it). You can find all three seasons of this compelling and gut-wrenching series on Netflix.

"Twenty Twelve"

After those two incredible dramas, you're probably going to want a comedic breather, and "Twenty Twelve" is the perfect reprieve. The show centers around the planning of the 2012 London Olympic Games, with just the right amount of irreverence...and also Lord Grantham...

"The Crown"

While we still have an unknown amount of time to wait (no pressure, Netflix) until season three, it never hurts to prepare. And if you haven't yet enjoyed this epic series, enjoy.
