Every Holiday I go into my "I-have-to-connect-with-EVERYONE-mode."
Rather than sending a mass text message or email, I will either call or individually text folks. I kid you not, it's usually close to 50 folks I reach out to - not counting the folks I will see later in the day.
How I do it is beyond me.
I'm usually cooking and texting, or calling folks in between getting dressed. The stress I put myself under to make sure I don't forget a single person is ridiculous.
But not this year.
I was already a bit sore and moody from barely cooking the day before Thanksgiving, plus a long list of personal stuff that had to be done on Thanksgiving day took me over the edge.
I just didn't have the time - or the mind set - to send out a happy or peppy Thanksgiving message.
I figured that whoever wanted to reach out to me would, or whoever didn't, was either busy or didn't feel the need to reach out to me.
I want to believe that whoever didn't reach out to me was just as busy as I was...and I didn't take it personal.
I know I was busy with (mostly) family obligations....and I hope other's didn't take offense to my lack of holiday cheer.
So there you have it: I broke tradition, yet I still managed to have a great Thanksgiving lunch and later dinner.
Folks were great all around, I didn't overeat and thankfully, no drama was involved.
How's that for a happy and stress free Thanksgiving?
