Oh, but I am absolutely in love with this lovely and intimate Bridport wedding day! However, before I begin, I should clarify that this was a wedding which took place over two counties... the bridal preparations and reception being in Dorset, and the actual ceremony in Devon!
Today on the blog we're going to look at some of the images from the bridal preparations... well, the whole wedding party preparations, to be honest. This small family wedding started and finished at the truly gorgeous Mangerton House near Bridport in Dorset, and I was honoured to be there to capture images of the family getting ready before they left for church. As the bride and groom were both getting ready in the same property, there was some subterfuge required to make sure that they didn't bump into each other on the morning of the wedding - although it made my job rather easier, as I could simply move between rooms to capture a flavour of what was going on with the whole wedding party!
As you can see from the images, the bride and groom are a little more mature than many of the couples you might see on my real wedding blog. This is one of the reasons that I love this wedding so much, for love and marriage second time around is even sweeter! I particularly love the fact that the bride and groom totally cherished the event and made it just as special as a 'first time' marriage. All too often, second marriages go by quietly without too much ceremony and rejoicing - but why should this be? Two people falling in love and getting married is a wonderful thing, no matter at what age!
