Bring on Christmas…

I know, I know…summer isn’t even over yet.  And you are all swearing at me right now.

I don’t care.

I am going to make this the most excellent Christmas I can.

I feel the need to start now.

Last year Christmas was a tough one, between the loss of my best friends son Brock and then my son ending up in the hospital in Vancouver, it was a trying time to say the least. Although the miracles that took place and the absolute love and joy we found in the midst of all the sadness is what Christmas is really all about, isn’t it?

It was amazing to have the wee prince here with my brother and his lovely lady Jen of course, but I was so unprepared and I will outright admit I was stressed. The perfectionist in me was totally put to the test.

Even though I am totally aware nothing is ever perfect.

This year I just want it to be special.

I am going to try and make most of my presents. Not all of them. I am not insane.

I have already bought the Wee Prince a present…but there will be homemade added to it to make it delicious :)

So it has begun, and everyone should probably be very afraid.

Unless you are getting a present from me, and then you should just be excited!!

I have found an absolutely beautiful new soap mold that I am totally in love with, so I will be making more soap as usual…

This year, with the addition of Pinterest to the Universe, I have found my horizons expanding in the creative world. I have made some stuff I never could have thought up in my head.

Something like these…

Only I changed them up a tad.

But aren’t they freaking adorable?

I have also hauled out the sewing machine.

The crochet hook is next.

Soon I will have 14 different projects going on. I found the coolest new crochet project to try this morning…

It is like knitting, only not. Which is good, because I cannot for the life of me grasp knitting. I have no idea why not, but I am fairly certain I can do this.

I have been missing writing too, so I am going to try and fit more in. Work is slowing down now and soon I will be working a day in the tat shop, so that should put some excitement into things.

Today we are still in bed. The love of my life is snoring. It’s 11:30, I am blogging…

We are going for brunch and then I am going to go and get some supplies. To make stuff.

If you want a present, put in your order now.

We will see how that goes.

Happy Sunday loves.
